The Biriyani of Press Club Canteen near the Ganginar Par of Mymensingh town is famous for its taste and historical value (I don’t know much! I only heard from people). During our tour I have decided to have a lunch in this canteen with the Biriyani. Everyone knows about this canteen in Mymensingh town. So, after reaching near the Ganginar Par, just ask anyone around you to show you the canteen.
We have tasted three plates of Biriyani with additional two chicken curries, mineral water and a bottle of soft drink. Including the tips for the waiter, our bill was 550 Taka. Possibly a plate of Biriyani was around 120 Taka, I forgot. They use to serve the Biriyani in a plate where you’d find a chicken’s piece is covered with the Biriyani inside the plate. The price, and the portion of the food was reasonable to me. Also the service of the canteen was quick and prompt.
This canteen is at the second floor. I presumed this would be a smaller one. But found slightly larger, yet small considering its popularity. Inside was slightly darker in my opinion. A possible location for the canteen is somewhere around this GPS coordinate (24°45’25.12″N, 90°24’23.39″E).
