It was the 4:00 pm at afternoon. Weather was gloomy. I have boarded on a CNG vehicle. But later I came to know that the driver was not familiar with the place that I was looking for. It was raining heavily. I was almost soaked by the rain while sitting on the left side of the driver.
He dropped me at the middle of nowhere. Rain was continuing and I was alone at the roadside. Not a single person were available there for guiding me to the right way. So picked a path by random selection and started walking using the cover of my poor umbrella that is a witness of my lot of lonely travelings.
Since it was raining, I hardly found any local people around. It was a muddy village road but not that much boring for walking. A couple of guys were catching fish from the pond, and I have asked them about my destination. They have assured me that I was on the right course. It was just after 4 at afternoon, but the gloomy weather made the surroundings as if its about to sunset. I was walking beside the river Narashunda(নরসুন্দা নদী), using the directions from locals.
About Jongolbari(জঙ্গলবাড়ী):
Jongolbari(জঙ্গলবাড়ী) is mainly a fort that is located at the Jongolbari(জঙ্গলবাড়ী) of Karimganj Upozila(করিমগঞ্জ উপজেলা) of Koshoreganj(কিশোরগঞ্জ). It was the second capital of Isha Khan(ইশা খাঁ). He captured the fort from Lokkhon Shing Hajara(লক্ষন সিং হাজারা) during the battle of Egaro Shindur(এগারো সিন্দুর) with Man Singh(মান সিংহ).
This is known as Jongolbari Durgo(জঙ্গলবাড়ী দুর্গ), Isha Khar Bari(ইশা খাঁর বাড়ী), etc to the local people. There is a dilapidated building is still available there. A portion of that building is still being used by the decedents from Isha Kha(ইশা খাঁ).
An archaic mosque is available just beside the Jongolbari(জঙ্গলবাড়ী) fort. Its a small rectangular shaped mosque having three domes at the top and four minarets at the four corners. A large pond is available at the eastern side of the mosque.
How to go:
Though I have picked a lengthy direction for locating the Jongolbari(জঙ্গলবাড়ী), but while returning I have picked the shortest one. The Jongolbari(জঙ্গলবাড়ী) is mainly located beside the Dewanganj Bazaar(দেওয়ানগঞ্জ বাজার). You can easily reach to the Dewanganj bazaar(দেওয়ানগঞ্জ বাজার) from Kishoreganj(কিশোরগঞ্জ) town. Here is a simple direction for your help.
1) From the Ekrampur(একরামপুর) of Kishoreganj(কিশোরগঞ্জ) town, come to the Dewanganj Bazaar(দেওয়ানগঞ্জ বাজার) using any CNG or Easy bike. It will be 15-20 taka per person. If you reserve the whole vehicle, that case it will be 70-80 taka.
2) From there its a walking distance to reach near the Jongolbari(জঙ্গলবাড়ী).
