Puthia(পুঠিয়া) is located at 30 kilometers apart from the Rajshahi(রাজশাহী) town. Its beside the Rajshahi-Dhaka highway. This place has a Rajbari(রাজবাড়ী) and lot of different type of temples. The whole premise is surrounded by a lake which is acting as a boundary.
Shib Mondir(শিব মন্দির):
Shib mondir(শিব মন্দির) is located at the entrance of the Puthia premise. This is having a height of 65 ft. Approximately 200 years back the queen Bhuban Mohini(ভুবন মোহিনী দেবী) Debi was built this temple. Inside the temple a phallus of lord Shiva is available. Beside the temple, another small temple is available.
Dol Moncho(দোল মঞ্চ):
Dol Moncho(দোল মঞ্চ) is at the opposite side of the Rajbari(রাজবাড়ী), beside a field. Its a four stored temple. Upper floor is smaller then the lower one. That means the top most flower is the smallest one. Around 100 years back, the queen Hem Kumari Debi(হেম কুমারী দেবী) was built this temple.
Puthia Rajbari(পুঠিয়া রাজবাড়ী):
This old mansion is right now serving as Loskorpur(লস্করপুর) Degree College. This palace is like any other Jomidar(জমিদার) palaces from Bangladesh. Near the mansion a Ghat(ঘাট) is available at the lake which is bounded by brick wall. Possibly the females from the Rajbari(রাজবাড়ী) used to take bath there.
Gobindo Mondir(গোবিন্দ মন্দির):
To me, this is the most beautiful temple from the Puthia premise. The wall of the temple is depicted the Ramayan, Maha Bharat, etc. This is exactly beside the Rajbari. The temple is having similarity with the Kantajew Temple of Dinajpur.
Ahnik Mondir(আহ্নিক মন্দির):
This is another ornate temple which is located beside the Pukur ghat(পুকুর ঘাট). Its a small one but the walls are exquisitely ornate.
Bidhobar Mondir(বিধবার মন্দির):
Its a very small temple near the Ahnik Mondir(আহ্নিক মন্দির). Its beside the road. According to local people, a widow use to pray here. She was widowed at the age of 12.
Boro Ahikrok Mondir(বড় আহিক্রক মন্দির):
This lovely temple is located at the western side of the Puthia(পুঠিয়া) premise. I don’t know exactly for what purpose this temple is served. But its having delicate architecture and the walls are highly ornate.
Gopal Mondir(গোপাল মন্দির):
This is located at the same premise of the Boro Ahikrok Mondir(বড় আহিক্রক মন্দির). Its a single door small temple and like other temple its wall is having flamboyant ornate. This temple is having a height around 8 meter.
How to Go:
This is very easy to visit the Puthia(পুঠিয়া) from Rajshahi town. There is a bus stand near the railway station. You can use the local bus from there for Puthia(পুঠিয়া). Its around 20 taka per person. You have to get down from the bus at Puthia Bazar(পুঠিয়া বাজার). From Puthia Bazar(পুঠিয়া বাজার), its 4 taka van fare to reach at the main premise.
