Saint Martin’s Island is a nice place to watch the sunset as there is nothing but water around the island. During our tour of Saint Martin’s Island we enjoyed a magnificent sunset there. Best place to watch the sunset on the island is the western side. We stayed at the eastern side of the island. That’s why we had to do a bit of walking to reach the other side before the sunset.
After lunch we went to the beach located at the northern side of Saint Martin’s Island. Our main target was to observe the sunset from the beach at western side. As we still had more than a few hours on hand we have decided to freshen up at low tide waves from the beach. It was Friday, but interestingly this portion of the island was less crowded. We played in low tide water for around half an hour.
05:37 pm was the time for the sunset. So by keeping plenty of time on hand we started walking towards the western side of the island. It was slightly difficult to walk over the loose sand on the beach. That’s why it took more time than usual to reach there.
But when we got there, everything was set for the show. Only a few tourists and us were standing on the wet beach to say goodbye to the sun for the day. To me, sunset is always lovely around the rivers and the oceans. I love to watch the sunset again and again, and never get tired. As our hotel was on the eastern side of the island, we had to do a long walk in the dark when the show was over.
There were few small fishing boats docked near the shore. Few local kids were collecting snail shells from the sand. And a few handful of tourists were standing on the beach to watch the sunset. It wasn’t the best of the sunsets I have seen so far, but was nonetheless beautiful. If you visit Saint Martin’s island don’t forget to keep the sunset watching in your todo list.
