I was interested to visit the Satoir Mosque that is situated in the Satoir bazar of Boalmari upazila. I was in Madhukhali upazila, and just visited the Mathurapur Deul. Initially I wasn’t interested in visiting the mosque, because the only way to reach there was using a local bus, and it would take around 1-2 hours.
But from local people I came to know that I could hire a motorbike. So I went to the Motorcycle stand near the Madhukhali Bazar, and hired a bike with a driver for 160 Taka. The contact was that he would take me to the mosque, and after visiting the mosque he would bring me here, it was really time saving. After two hours I returned back to the same place after visiting the mosque.
There are lot of myths available for the mosque, such as:
1) This mosque was built within one day by the order of Allah.
2) The four pillars of the mosque use to laugh and cry sometimes (The reason is the air passing, and it just makes a different tone).
3) If you take the brick from the mosque in your house, no insect would come near the house.
These funny myths actually convinced me to visit the mosque. I was disappointed after visiting the Satoir mosque. It was actually a 700 years old mosque, but the old one was totally renovated. In the present day this is nothing but a modern day mosque.
