Bridge from movie “P.S. I love you”

This is an unusual tourist spot which is located in Wicklow mountain (less than 3 kilometers from the Sally Gap). It is a simple bridge that became popular quickly after appearing in the movie P.S. I Love You. In the movie the nearby area from the bridge was purple due to Heather’s blooming. Lots of romantic minded tourists along with the fans of the movie visit this place during their Wicklow visit. [Scene from the movie].

There are a lot of day tour operators who now include this bridge into the “point of attraction“. This place can be busy during the summer time, but the good thing is nobody stays there forever. So you’d get your chance with the empty bridge. There is a nice little layover parking near the bridge which could hold 4-5 cars.

Peak of Heather’s blooming is the first two weeks of August (possibly extended from late July, and to the third week of August). In current days you might not get the same amount of flowers as you’ve seen in the movie. But in other parts of Wicklow it is always promised that you’d see plenty of Heathers. There is a nice little stream that passes under the bridge. The stream creates a small waterfall which might look more beautiful after the rain. This stream falls into the Cloghoge River, which then falls into Lough Tay, and then into Lough Dan. Isn’t it amazing? It would be a nice idea to walk around the stream for a while if you have time. This will not only give you an opportunity to see the bridge from far but also allow you to see how other people react when they arrive near the scene.

I have been through this bridge many times during my Wicklow mountain exploration. Also I gave several pauses there in different seasons (Spring, Summer, Autumn). On a nice sunny day in summer this place is really beautiful.
