#7 Doi from Bogura
Bogura is famous for one thing, and that is Doi (or Curd). If anyone visits Bogura and returns from there without tasting the Doi then their tour wouldn’t be completed. There are several sweet shops around the town which are selling the quality Doi. One such shop name is Rofater Doi.
How to Go:
Bogura is approximately 192 kilometer away from Dhaka. There are several quality night coaches run between Bogura and Dhaka. In fact the buses for few other districts of northern part of Bangladesh go through this district. That’s why the bus services are one of the best from the country. Few quality bus service names are Nabil Paribahan, Haque Enterprise, SR Travels, etc. Depending upon the road condition it might take 5-8 hours or journey. Alternate options are by train or plane.
Where to stay:
As Bogura town is a well developed city, it offers plenty of good quality hotels. The Bangladesh government has a Parjatan motel, but it sometimes becomes hard to get a reservation, but the service is really good there. The Hotel Naz Garden is the most expensive one from the city as it is probably a 4 or 5 star hotel. There are guesthouses like Red Chillies available in the town within an affordable price range.
Where to eat:
All the hotel and motel names mentioned earlier have restaurants inside. The food quality of those restaurants are really good. Even if you don’t get a room reservation in Parjtan Motel you could have dinner or lunch there. Also the restaurant inside the Red Chillies guesthouse is good for breakfast.
