Chandanpura Mosque – Chittagong

Chandanpura Mosque – Chittagong

Chandanpura Mosque is an attractive multiple dome mosque. This is situated just beside the Shiraj Ud Dowla Road, which is at the old part of Chittagong. If you are traveling from Chittagong then you could take a CNG driven auto rickshaw and just ask the driver to take you to Chandanpura Mosque (in Bangla which would be Mosjid).

The mosque was renovated in 1952. The colorful design of the mosque is really attractive. Recently due to pollution, the mosque is losing its beauty day by day. This mosque is also known as Masjid-e-Siraj-ud Doula. There is a fire station located at the opposite of the mosque. The red building of the fire station is also an eye-catching one for its Colonial architecture.

This Chandanpura mosque was renovated in 1952. Apart from that we know very little about this stylish mosque.

Chandanpura mosque is a unique attraction from the Chittagong district. In Bangladesh we do not have this kind of mosque. It doesn’t take much time to visit this architectural gem. Also the location of the mosque is very convenient. Anyone who has interest in this particular attraction should visit this Chondonpura mosque.
