Faridpur is an old town that has plenty of colonial era edifices scattered around the city. You’d find numerous edifices that were built during the British Colonial period. In fact most of the government offices are from the British period. That’s why it is a nice idea to explore the city using a rickshaw or for an hour or two.
Some of the buildings are occupied by the government and some are private properties of rich people. The police line buildings were developed during the British era. Also the General Hospital (aka Sadar Hospital), Zilla school and the Government Rajendra university colleges were built in that period. The Jasimuddin Hall is just beside the Judge Court area, and the Alimuzzaman Hall also.
There are other government offices which take place inside some of the old buildings. Few of those are entry restricted, and few are open to the public for their regular interaction with government work.
