Narail: Badha Ghat

Saturday, 22 June 2013

Narail(নড়াইল) is one of the smallest districts from Bangladesh. It has very few things to explore as well. At the early morning after a traditional ‘Lonely Traveler’ breakfast, we have gone near to the Badhaghat(বাঁধাঘাট). It was near the Victoria college which was around our Hotel. So we had a walk to reach there.

This ghat(ঘাট), beside the beautiful named river Chitra(চিত্রা) was built by the Jomidar(জমিদার) of Narail(নড়াইল), whose house was near from here(now vanished after having a vie with the era). Though it was built by a Jomidar(জমিদার), but local people used to call it as Rajbari Ghat(রাজবাড়ী ঘাট). Jomidar(জমিদার) used to pass his afternoon here pretty often.

How to Go:

Badha Ghat(বাধা ঘাট) or Rajbari Ghat(রাজবাড়ী ঘাট) is near to the Victoria college of Narail(নড়াইল) town. You can come here from anywhere using a rickshaw, van, or by an invigorating walk.

For your assistance, the GPS coordinate of the Badha Ghat(বাধা ঘাট) is (23° 9’44.05″N, 89°30’7.27″E).

Beautiful River Chitra(চিত্রা নদী).

Hindu deity Swarashwati(স্বরস্বতী), the goddess of music and wisdom inside a temple near the Badha Ghat(বাধা ঘাট).

Nishinath Tola(নিশিনাথ তলা), a few minutes of walking distance from the Badha Ghat(বাধা ঘাট).
