Nunchhori river is probably the smallest river from Bangladesh. Initially anyone would find it hard to call this as a river compared to the giantess we see for the rivers in Bangladesh. This tiny river originates from the stream of Debotar pukur near Maischhori of Khagrachhari district. After flowing a small distance (probably a ten kilometer) this river Nunchhori falls into the river Chengi.
From my observation, the average depth of the Nunchhori river would be around 1 ft, or may be less. It has a constant flow throughout the year, and only God knows how the lake uses to produce this amount of water every day.
Photos of this river were taken from Rojopara, a small village on the way to Debotar pukur. It was around the middle of the day and plenty of local kids were having fun in the shallow river. Apart from the kids, villagers also have their bath in river water. They pour the water into a bucket or similar pot and shower over the body.
