Comilla has two prominent rivers. One is Meghna, and another one is Gomti. This time I had a chance to visit the river Gomti. It was the dry season, and the water level of the river was too low. But the flow of the river wasn’t less at all. I have experienced the mighty flow of the river during the swim.
In the afternoon after visiting the Maynamati War Cemetery, we went to the bank of the river Gomti. It was just 15 Taka rickshaw fare, or half a kilometer walking distance. We reached there by a rickshaw, and returned back by foot.
I love water, and most of all I love to swim in rivers. It’s a different feeling to swim in a river. I have taken a bath at several rivers before. So why not with the river Gomti? I have my shorts in my traveling bag, and I couldn’t resist myself from jumping inside the river after the hot and tiring day.
River Gomti is flowing throughout the Comilla. And you can reach the bank of the river from most of the places in Comilla. If you are planning to visit the Comilla and if you know how to swim, then my suggestion is to cool your body with the water of Gomti.
