I have been to the Bandura of Nawabgonj to explore the old mansions of Kolakopa. While walking around the bank of the river I have found a large number of potteries were selling at the bank of the river Ichhamoti. Initially thought it was a weekly bazaar. But later came to know that it was the Shadur mela of Poush (a village fair).
So started exploring the whole village fair premise. It was the last day of the fair which started at the first day of Poush (number 9 month from Bangla calendar). This fair is scattered around several places for lack of space. Both sides of the road were occupied by several shopkeepers and sellers. From the fair I have tasted Chotpoti, Sweet, Doi, Chanachur, etc. I have bought a doll for only 10 Taka. It was unexpectedly cheap and I bemoaned for the artist for selling that in such a cheap price.
GPS coordinate of this village fair area is (23°39’50.41″N, 90° 8’52.80″E). To reach there just get off near at Kolakopa Ansar Camp on the way to Bandura/Dohar. You can take such bus services from Fulbaria/Gulistan of Dhaka. Bus fare is around 70 Taka. Best services are N. Mallik, Nagar Poribohon, etc.
