St Thomas Church also known as St Merry’s Cathedral is located beside the Johnson road of Laxmibazar. Few local people use to call it as Shada Girja (means white church) because of the very white color of the church. This church was built in 1819 and inaugurated by Bishop Reginald Heber of Kolkata. Also for your information, it’s just opposite of the Bahadur Shah Park. So you can visit both the places at the same time.
St Thomas Church is open for all. I don’t know the exact time for the prayers. But you could go there anytime to visit the church. There is no restriction for the visitors. If you are lucky and be there during the prayer time you could enter inside the church too. More about the church is in wikipedia.
There is a basketball ground in front of the church where the stuffs and officers of the church use to play at afternoon.
