Vasu Bihar is an archaeological site that is located in a remote place of Bogura district. There are three main architectural components available there. Two of them were used by the Buddhist for the meditation, and it is now called university. And other one was for the prayer. This place is highly sacred to the Buddhist people. Marriage of the daughter of high commissioner of SriLanka was held in this Bihar few years back.
Recently another architecture was excavated, and the scholars are guessing it could be the kitchen at that time. Still the research is going on for this issue. This whole Vasu Bihara is situated by the river Nagar. Nowadays the river course has been changed, and it is now a bit far from bihar.
Not far from Bihar, there is another place called Tuta Ram Panditer Dhap, or Pandit Bhita. That place’s name is Vasu Bazar. Also there is a Dighi (large water tank) near the place.
It was the early morning and we planned to visit Vasu Bihar. It is located in the Shibganj Thana of Bogura district, and around 18 kilometers apart from the town. You could reach it using any local bus or private vehicles.
